 Hartford Colony Historic District

~ Waterford, Connecticut

 Ailanthus Farm is at 80 Shore Road, Waterford. 
It is a circa 1850's farmhouse listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
It was marketed in 2023 as being renovated to "Impeccable Standard."
It is a landmark property holding the stories and history 
of many families and members of the community, both near and far.
It is also known as the "Old Nichols Farm" and "The Old Putnam Farm."

Please write a letter and save it as a .pdf, and email to: todd.levine@ct.gov

In your letter please include the following points:

  • "I object to the demolition of 80 Shore Road" 

     

  • The Building is on the National Register of Historic Places, 

    as part of the Hartford Colony Historic District.

     

  •  Please relate ANY reason you have for wanting to save the building, 

    as simple, technical or as personal as you wish. For example:

    • I walk past this house everyday and it holds the character of my community

    • I have family memories there, such as...

    • There are few architectural samples such as Ailanthus Farm left in Waterford. 

    • The detailing descriptions in the National Historic Registration prove 

      Ailanthus Farm has architectural importance to the history of this community

    • This neighborhood will not be the same without it.
